James Newton Howard is an eight-time Academy Award-nominated composer, as well as a Grammy and Emmy Award winner. He is best known for his scores to Pretty Woman (1990), The Fugitive (1993), My Best Friend's Wedding (1997), King Kong (2005), Blood Diamond (2006), I Am Legend (2007), The Hunger Games (2012), and, with Hans Zimmer, Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008). His next film, Disney's Maleficent, hits theaters on May 30th, 2014.
